What do you guys think a NON-ORIGINAL Colt M16A2 marked auto should go for in today's MG market? It has a new 4 position buffer tube, so it doesn't have the original factory staked tube, pins, FCG, etc. Basically has been completely modernized. Thanks! |

They're calling it "Converted to M4". I am thinking about putting an offer on it but I don't think it should go for normal M16A2 prices because it is not "original". It was originally a 20" A2 rifle, so it had the A2 stock on it. I guess there wasn't any factory staking to break in this case. Anyway it's on subguns. I guess let me know what you think. Here is the Link It was "converted to m4" by Ken Elmore which is probably as good as Colt doing it if not better... I was just wondering what you guys thought something like this would be worth today. Seems to me that it would be more like $15k, but hey what do I know...  Thanks |

I'm going to guess it's priced correctly, as it is an A2 with the Re-enforced front pivot pin. The re-enforcement to me is the most important part regardless of configuration, and most sell for $17.5k to $21k. Also they changed it up but are including the 20" upper and full stock that came with it. |

So when I first looked at it I saw the newer buffer tube and thought "wow they broke the original staking". At second glance I noticed that it was a rifle with the full A2 stock, which the factory doesn't stake like the carbines. So what you say makes sense. Wish I had more money...  |
