Only the Colt system will work in FA and RRA makes a clone. My setup is RRA upper, Hahn top-loading mag block and Colt magazines. The only work you have to do after that is ramp the bolt to slow down the hammer re-set during bolt recoil. After that you can cut barrels, add handguards, etc. until you get it how you like it. There is no gas system, straight blowback from closed bolt like an HK without the roller-locker delay. ROF is controlled by buffer and spring weight. Simply NOT true. I have personally and extensively shot an Olympic upper in FA. It works perfectly every time and uses unmodified Sten mags. I personally own a RRA 9mm upper and it works fine as well- uses unmodified Uzi mags. There are two generally different 9mm upper configurations and the difference between them is either single or double feed and consequently which mags you need to use. |

Oly makes a good one. I had one custom made by Kurt Wala on the cheap. Get an AAC rate reducer. You won't have to switch the buffer out when switching from 9mm to .223 and it is generally a nice change for your M16 in full auto (.223). Get some good Colt mags (you'll see them for sale here and on subguns often). They usually go for around $50 a peice but they're worth it. I have a 3.5" upper and love it.  I use an OKO on it. |
