I've got a AR RDIAS, and a bunch of different uppers for it but I'm left handed and was wondering if anyone has seen or knows who makes a Lefty upper with the FA bolt and carrier.

Stag has the uppers listed on their site, but the bolt carriers are all semi's, and they show nothing below 16" uppers either.

Ideally, I'd llke to have a 5.56 11.5" upper with FA bolt and carrier from the same manufacturer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Call STAG and ask for a F/A Left-handed Bolt Carrier. At SHOT2006, they told me they would sell them if you had the paperwork.

That's great news, I'll give them a call today and post their answer in this thread.

Edited to add:

Called and was told that they have lefty full auto carriers for an upgrade price of an additional $5 !!  I'd like to have a 11.5" barrel, but they are not available currently, so I guess it'll be another M4 for me.

I'll be ordering one up today.

Thanks again.

Good deal. I am glad it worked out, often what you hear at SHOT and what happens in real life are far apart.

I don't know what the rumors at SHOT were, but all I need now is an ambidextrous auto selector.

I have a righty 11.5" upper now, and it looks like a 16" could cut down nicely.  The M203 notch begins right where the A2 flash suppressor and washer are on my 11.5", and all I'd need is a gunsmith to cut off the barrel and thead it for the flash hider.  The sight base, forward grips, sight, etc. are identical on the 11.5" & 16" uppers.  I'm assuming the gas port and tube are the same also.

I wonder if I can just have an ambi selector machined with the auto profile?  I haven't been able to locate a lefty full auto one yet.

if you are now looking for a M16 ambidextrous selector, Bushmaster has one on page 18 of the hard copy of their catalog.  Part number MMT-0006K

Thay also require a copy of the form 4 to order NFA parts.

Hope this helps...

lw55566,

Thanks for the heads up.

The Busmaster website is pretty basic, but I did a search and found the catalog on line.  Looks like for $36.95 + shipping my searches are over.  I think I'll try and call in an order and see if they'll let me fax in the form 4.

Once again, the collective knowledge of AR15.com comes through for the average idiot. (me)

Thank you all.
