It's eating all of my dang ammo!!!  Much faster than my MP5, by a longshot.

I sold my last bullet hose Mini a few years ago. It was as fast a cycle rate as the Glock sear I have. Fun when I could get cheap Russian Silver Bear for $4 a box.

A company called BarrelXchange used to put tungsten weights into Mini Uzi bolts to slow down the ROF somewhat.  I don't know if they still offer the service, or if anyone else does the work.

I miss mine. I had one of barrel xchanges tungsten bolts and it was awesome with the weights removed.

Open or closed bolt?  I used to have one of each and the closed bolt was insane!

Thinking of picking up a pre sample.  I love my Vector full size.  Uzis are such badass guns.

+1.  Love my UZI's.  I have the Mini in closed (9mm and used to have an IMI factory 40SW closed bolt) and open bolt (22LR, 9mm and 40SW).  Have a couple of the heavy BarrelXchange Mini bolts and they are fantastic.

As well as the full size in Open (22LR, 9mm, 40SW and 45 ACP) and closed bolt (9mm and 45ACP) all factory IMI bolts except for the open bolt 22LR (Vector) and .40SW (BarrelXchange)

I used to have a closed bolt Micro which I sold.

I personally do not like any of the UZI's in closed bolt.  I think they run much rougher than open bolt.

UZI's were originally designed for open bolt operation and take advantage of the 'advanced primer ignition (API)' principle.  You lose that when using the closed bolt UZI design.

As an example, if you fire any closed bolt UZI (Semi or Full auto) gun in semi side by an open bolt UZI just in semi alone you can feel the difference see what I mean.  The open bolt has a much softer recoil.

With the open bolt, the primer is detonated before the bolt has had a chance to fully bottom out on the trunion.   API helps to lessen the initial recoil impulse.  I think firing any UZI in closed bolt even in semi is uncomfortable because of this and is even worse in full auto.

It is a trade off though, I think open bolt takes more skill to shoot accurately with 'bolt lurch' (bolt lurching forward) when pulling the trigger.  However, once mastered, UZI's are very accurate.

In addition, I think 'tactical' mag changes are faster as well (reloading before you run out of ammo) with an open bolt gun.

Think about inserting a fully loaded mag on an open bolt gun with the bolt back, there is very little resistance to seat the mag since you are not compressing the rounds in the mag under the bolt...vs a closed bolt gun, you have to slam the mag in there to compress the rounds in the mag with the bolt forward.

Mine is open bolt.  I love the thing.  I am finding that I like it more than my MP5.  Fits perfectly in my backpack.
