| Besides the weld issues what other problems or problems may arise with these Macs |
|
Mine is a 45 but came with a 9mm conversion installed. I don't have the original Texas 45acp bolt / upper but the Texas 9mm bolt uses a specific extractor that is unobtainium.
So ever since my 9mm extractor broke it's been in 45 mode. Gun runs great so no regrets in my case. |

is it a real texas mac with the garand safety or is it just a texas mac flat that SWD bought and finished into a regular mac? (has a regular mac safety) if it's the latter, then yer GTG Yea thats the first thing. If it has the regular safety chances are SWD finished it and it is fine. For the first style with the garand safety. Other than weld issues parts can be an issue to fine. Also some of them have layered metal parts instead of cast which are lower quality. That being said practical solutions and others can rebuild them. Practical solutions redoes the welds and brings the pin holes to the standard spec as well as replacing the internals with standard ones. Unless you get the gun hella cheap though it might be better to buy one made elsewhere. |
