I came across this Thompson Lower Receiver when a buddy of mine was settling the estate of a family member. I know little-to-nothing of it. There's also a 20-rd stick magazine made by The Seymour Products Company.

Any idea which model it is? Does it have any collector value?

Looks like its for a 1928 model Thompson. I wouldn't really say it has collector value. Usually $350-$400.

1928A1

Made by Savage during WWII.

No collector value.  Good for a spare lower with parts.  I'm guessing the right person would pay $300-$400.  Most folks would have no use for it.

These are fairly common. A lot of them, in pristine condition, came in a few years ago with the Russian Lend-Lease parts kits. You see them on GunBroker for $400-475.

No problem owning them from a legal standpoint. They are just "parts."

The main market, I think, for Thompson trigger frames like this, is for people assembling "display" guns. There are lots of dummy receivers being made, everything from cheap aluminum castings to the high-end ones from Philadelphia Ordnanace or Doug Richardson.

As the supply of Russian imports is drying up, prices for Thompson parts are going up. This assembly is actually worth more parted out than in one piece. For example, Numrich wants $45 for the magazine catch alone.

Heck...I guess I'll put it on the EE and see what happens.

Thank you for your help.
