I was looking at maybe getting a LMT 10.5 upper for a SBR build. What are your opinions on these? My other choice is going with a Noveske barrel, but wouldn't mind saving a few bucks if the LMT is good quality. Any info would be appreciated.
ETA: How is the accuracy with the LMT 10.5 barrel? I've read great things about the Noveske 10.5. I don't think I expect the LMT to be as accurate as the Noveske, but is it close?? |

I have one.
First one had issues with 55gr ammo. Pretty much would keyhole 5 plus rounds per mag of 20(only was loading the mags to 20 because I was putting a single pack of ammo in each). Played some phone tag with lmt(most of this was my fault). Gene Swanson gave me an RMA and they got it back to me in around 2 weeks with a holiday in the middle. Sent them my entire upper with my kac rail and bcm bcg. They tested it and found the barrel out of spec. They replaced the barrel and reinstalled all of my stuff including putting a peal washer instead of the standard crush washer for my halo suppressor. With the new barrel it seems to be doing a lot better although it did keyhole like 2 or 3 rounds of silver bear 55gr. Since it didn't do it with brown bear, wwb, or privi I marked it as bad rounds. With both barrels the gun shot fine though as far as cycling goes. LMT's customer support was very good and I'm happy with the gun as of now. I'm running it on a lmt lower that I added a sopmod stock to with a h buffer that I form 1'd. I will say when I run the gun suppressed I run at least 62gr ammo just to be on the safe side though. |

These are one of the best deals for the money.
With 77gr Black Hills mine will run about an 1.5" with an Aimpoint and 2.5 or so with XM193. I'd be curious as to how good one would go with a magnified scope. I can ring 2/3 size IPSC plates at 300 yards with mine no sweat. Mine has been utterly reliable and is a blast to shoot. |
