I just sent my lowers to Ident the other day.  This is my last check.  What is the engraving supposed to say?

John Smith
Louisville, KY

Is that correct?

Assuming your name is John Smith, yeah, that's correct.

...and you went the individual route and not with a trust.

More specifically, it should have the name of the applicant and the city & state that are listed in box 3b of the form 1.

Is there anyplace that does SBR engraving on an AR that does not require you to strip the receiver?

I believe Ident Marking can engrave the side or under the trigger guard without stripping.  Front of the magwell requires removing the buffer tube.  Send them an email or give them a call to make sure my memory is correct.  They answered my emails quickly and were very helpful when I called with questions.  Ident Marking

I did not have to strip mine.  I am getting it engraved over the trigger pins on the right side.  I took most of the stuff off but it still had the bolt release, mag release and the front take down pin but they didn't even specify I had to do that much.

Didn't have to strip mine to send to Ident; markings went on R Side above trigger pins

Thanks. Orion Arms is highly recommended, but they require you to strip the receiver. (Per an email I got.)

Ident has done all of mine and they never require anything to be stripped.

What does Ident charge to engrave a lower? Just the SBR required, nothing fancy.
