Can a SIG 556 pistol be legally reclassifed as an SBR by installing a stock on it? If so; what are the procedures for doing so? Also; who sells stocks for this application?

Just a quick reply...

You _can_ buy it as a pistol. Then send in the form (form 4 I think) to register it as an SBR (with the $200). Once it is approved and you have your approval from BATF in hand, you can put a stock on it.

I believe you do it on a form 1 then when it gets back it will then be on a form 4 after you paid tax stamp. You can not change it over till its back on a form 4. I would like to have one myself and do the same thing.

Buy Sig Pistol, Do a Form 1, wait for approval, engrave the necessaries for compliance, Buy the parts you need and presto.

Few other ways to go, but good as any place to start.
