Are there different extractors for the 1919a4?  I am building a post sample and my extractor is off center in the T-slot and binds.  It is either seriously out of spec, or for the wrong caliber.  Anyone?

EDIT SOLUTION:  The extractor is for a ANM2.  The aircraft version of the 1919.

Is the arm straight?  Any bend in it and it'll bind.  There are different calibers but odds are you have an Izzy kit so it's 308.

It looks straight to me, its just off to the side.  The extractor wont go all the way down because it gets stuck on the side of the T-slot.  The finish and serial dosent match the bolt either.  See pics.

Looks like Imageshack didn't like some of your pictures, #2 and #3 specifically.  Marked 'em as "pr0n, warez, or topsite".  Their little simple-minded machines can come to the stupidest conclusions, which is why I stopped using them to host my pictures...

You can still click on them and view the pic.

its hard to tell from the pick. Your extractor is definitely different then mine.  My extractor has plenty of clearance on either side of the t slot.  My gun was a .308 izzy gun.  you may have a different caliber extractor, although I thought they were all the same.

You're not installing it correctly into the bolt.

Note that there is a relief cut near the round pivot arm and you have to rotate the extractor to get the relief under the matching part in the bolt.  It's correctly installed when you can turn the bolt so the extractor side is facing down and the extractor does not fall out.  This is easier to do than to describe.

Yes, it is installed in the relief correctly.

Then it's seriously bent.  Time to get another.

Well that would explain it.

I take it the aircraft version extracts differently for a reason?  Was it different belts or what?  Just curious...

The bolts were thinner and weighed less.  They were also reversable for left hand feed.  Which is why the extractor hook is reversable.
