I searched and couldn't find it myself...
Does the minimum 16 inches include the entire barrel including the portion that mates with the receiver or the exposed portion from the muzzle to the receiver? If possible, please cite the actual statute/ ruling/ arbitrary BS from the ATF. |

Quoted:
barrel length is measured from the face of the CLOSED bolt. permanent muzzle attachments are included in measurement. That makes me feel better! I bought a 16 inch barrel that is 15 3/4 from the receiver to muzzle. Now I need to ask the company why it's 16 3/4 from the bolt to muzzle! |

As long as I'm not committing a felony, I can sleep at night knowing my barrel is slightly too long. |
