A friend of a friends father recently passed and I've been asked to help with his C3 items. I've got transfers started to his heir for all items. I've also found eventual buyers, or offered to purchase myself, all items save for one. He had a Chinese manufacture PPSH41 in good condition. This was a Korea bring back that was registered in '68. I'm finding a price range of 8k-15k for similar condition Russian guns. My understanding is that there are slight variations in the Chinese guns, but I find no recent online sales of Chinese guns listed. Does anyone have any insite into this gun and a ball park starting asking price??

Thanks

The PPSh-41's you see for under $10k are rewelds.  An Amnesty-registered bring-back such as the Chinese Type 50 in question will command a much higher price.  Most original PPSh-41's I've seen for sale go for $15k-$18k.  A Chinese Type 50 is indeed a rare variant of the PPSh-41 family here in the U.S.A.  Also, all original (not rewelds) PPSh-41 variants are on the ATF's "Curio and Relics" list, broadening their availability (and increasing their price).

The Chinese variation is rare but not as rare as the Korean verison.  Either way, it's definitely a 15-20k+ gun.

Yes...sad but true. In todays highly over inflated Class-3 market, it is worth that much!
