I have a 14.5" barreled AR that I paid the tax on, and it is registered on
a form 1. In the barrel length box I put <16 and it was sent back. I then put 14.5" in the barrel length box, and sent it back. It was approved. I listed the barrel as 14.5", as it was all I intended to use at the time, and now I am thinking of a 10" or perhaps a 11.5" barrel. Is there a way to ammend my form for the other barrel lengths ? Or does it matter since it is already a SBR ? Thanks, Scott |

The ATF requests that you notify them in writing if you permanently change your barrel length or caliber. That being said, a registered SBR has no limitations on barrel length. Notifying them is more of a CYA maneuver, so that it's clear you didn't improperly describe the original firearm. |

Can I have 2 barrel lengths on my form, as I intend to use both ? Thanks, Scott |

on the ATF web site they have a number to call the NFA branch and they will tell you exactly what you need to send and where to.
you can put as many barrel lengths on it as you want. i was told to list the different barrels i plan on using under the "additinal discription" section of the form one. i put down 4 different ones. but im still waiting on my form to get back but thats what they told me to put |

I have already gotten my form back approved, a long time ago actually. I have just heard that you can ammend the form to reflect the additional barrel lengths. I will call and ask I guess. |
