Looks like a LMT 40mm 203 launcher. Legality depends upon the state you live in. Since you live in "MD" as in Maryland I doubt it is legal there. However if your state or local laws to not otherwise prohibit as long as you follow the NFA procedures and get your tax stamp you are good to go. I was just at the range a few weeks ago and a guy there had a personally owned 10.5" SBR with the LMT 203 launcher on it. All legal - god bless Texas.
Projectiles are another issue and I am by no means an expert on the specifics of this but as I understand you can obtain star burst and smoke rounds w/o a problem. Actual frag grenades and I think less than lethal projectiles (CS, CN, ect.) are all considered a drestuctive device under the NFA and if you can find them it's just a matter of doing the paperwork and following the law to posses them, and the expense of purchase course. A 203 launcher is no diffrent from any other NFA item. If you live in a non restricted place or not otherwise prohibited, got the money and can get the paperwork done and follow the rules you can have it. |

HE ammo is considered a destructive device in and of itself, but it's moot because you'll be hard pressed to find a company that will sell them too you. Even if you did, they have to be stored in an explosives magazine, which isn't something everyone has. Pretty much everything else goes though, smoke, stars, chalk, buckshot, flachettes, batons, whatever. You can pretty much shoot whatever will fly down the barrel. The XM1822 beehive is pretty pimp. |
