LE agencies are not exempt from federal NFA law, though they do not have to pay the federal "making" tax. Your department needs to submit a Form 1 to make and register the department lower as a Short-Barrelled Rifle. There is no tax due, no CLEO signoff, and of course no prints or photos, or certificate of citizenship, when forms are submitted by a government entity. But the Form 1 itself must still be filled out, filed and approved by BATFE before you can legally put a 10.5" upper on your department lower. |
