I'm having reliability problems with my Mk.18 clone SBR. I'm currently running a LMT 10.5" upper with an AAC M4-2000 with an H2 buffer. I can run about 60-90 rds through it in this configuration and I'll get a couple of FTF's/double feeds or when I insert a magizine and hit the bolt release the bolt will fail to release. I take extra care of all my firearms and clean them thorougly within 30 minutes after range trips. I realize that it's due to the fact that the gases/carbon build-up. Is there ANYTHING I can do to minimize this ? How does the military do to prevent this ? They obvioiusly run more rounds through theirs than I do, so there has to be a more viable solution. Thanks for the help. |
90% it's the magazine. newer ones almost always hang up like this, esp. when trying to chamber the first round. either use 'em a bunch until they work 100%, or if they are already used, mark them and set them aside as "training mags". |

As already stated, I would check your mags. Also, what kind of lube are you using and how much? I've ran 900 rounds through my LMT 10.5" w/ my KAC NT4 attached over two days without one malfunction. All I did was take the BCG out and hosed it down with CLP before the start of day two. So I doubt your problem is carbon build-up. Use LOTS of lube. |
