I've had one for years which I was fortunate enough to get from the estate of a friend. They are typical Soviet designs- massively rugged and reliable. Fired from the bipod, they are pretty accurate. The belts are prone to snap off the little tabs on the front of the individual links, which pretty much renders that segment useless, but hopefully you can get plenty of belts. Takedown is simple- pivot the cover on the back of the buttstock to expose the end of the recoil spring. Use your thumb or a screwdriver to rotate it and withdeaw the spring assemby. Push the crosspin at the rear of the receiver and the whole buttstock/pistol grip assembly slides off to the rear. You can then draw the bolt carrier and bolt to the rear and out. Watch it when you do, as the bolt and the locking "flaps" will fall right out as you do. Have fun, and stay safe. Damn shame you can't bring it home. |
