First off, is there better brands than others? Are there ones made for more "haevy duty" applications ( asking becasue I would like the ability to shoot gas canisters from it.), and whats an M 203 go for these days?

The milspec 203s are pretty much equal in quality. Genuine U.S. Property-marked, uncut Vietnam-era originals have the highest market value; commercial Colts are next. The LMTs being sold new now are true milspec and about half the cost of the others -- you can get a new LMT for around $1,700 plus the $200 tax.

I picked up mine from Long Mountain several years ago. It is a J. A. CEINER. He only made 24 of them before he quit. Mine was 1300 + the 200 tax. Took less than 3 weeks to get.
