Without using a rail mounted 203, how can you mount a 203 on a rifle with a Rail?  I know that the RAS allows you to remove the bottom rail and install it that way but as I understand it, the SOPMOD Block II will do the same thing with a different rail?

Does anyone have pics of how this would work?

It works the same way.  I believe the rail system in SOPMOD II is from Daniel Defense, and it also has a removeable bottom rail.  If you don't have a rail mounted M203, you must have a rail system with a removeable lower section.  That would include:
Vltor VIS with M203 adapter bracket
Vltor CASV
Daniel Defense RIS II
Knight's System.

I also believe that the rail system would have to either use the standard barrel nut (CASV, Knights) or include some sort of an adapter (Vltor VIS.)  I'm not sure you could get a standard mount M203 onto some of the aftermarket barrel nuts out there.

Other company that have a removable bottom rail and are compadable with the M203s are Midwest Industries and Troy Industries.

I was told the new Troy Ind. 5 screw mounting system is strong enough to handle a rail mounted M203 as well.

Didn't all of the winners of the SOPMOD Block 2 have detachable bottom rails?  If I recall, KAC won as well as DD and someone else...

Have any of these rails made it into circulation?
