Approved just a few minutes ago.  So two week wait time. I’m going to try to get it tonight, but I also have to pickup the 1301 I have waiting on me at another FFL as well. Good news they are both within 30 mins of the other.

I think my 5.56 suppressor journey is done for a while now.

I got to fire a few rounds through mine. It’s pretty damn quiet for 5.56. I swear I think it’s quieter than any of my  22lr unsuppressed. Still obviously use ear pro. Gun ran much cleaner. Mag was basically clean vs my polonium. Gas wise significantly better than my polonium. In FRT I didn’t get gassed out.

This weekend I’ll give it a good run in. Going to take the HCAR, Bren 805 SBR, the 1301 and my DD to the range.

My only complaint is I wish they would include a tool to hold the suppressor as you tighten the hub mount. None of my tools will work.

Was hoping mine would be approved today since my lithium was submitted at the same time and got approved early this morning. No such luck for me.

The full size is very quiet with very little back pressure. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I would probably get the short one as the full size is just so big. My 10.3 rifle with the full size is longer than a 16 inch unsuppressed rifle.

Quick little update on first impressions. I got to shoot the Rhino S at work tonight for a few rounds at our indoor range. I brought my Dillion DRC556 to shoot with the same rifle. Indoors, they sounded the same. Gas was about the same, but the Rhino S may have been a little gassier than the Dillon. It was hard to say though. I am still hoping to get out to the outdoor range on Friday and put some more rounds through it.

I also got a chance to weigh the can. Without a mount, the can was 10.0 ounces.

In the video, the Vent, Rhino, and Dillon were the 3 best, and if I recall the Rhino slightly edged out the Dillon and PTR Vent (which was a full size can).

I’ll probably order an S for my 11.5, looks very promising at the current price. Quick (possibly dumb) question…are these all going through CA or can my local dealer order direct?

Pretty sure CA doesn't sell Rhino cans, one of the guys here can tell you where they got theirs, likely form the maker, I also think that East Valley Tactical sells these and is who Silencer Analytics gets a lot of his cans from.  He refers to them now and again but not sure if there is any type of monetary compensation.

Capital Armory does not carry them. I had to have one transfered to a local dealer.

Yeah my bad, it was Stealth Additive Works who is partnered with CA. I was looking at their Katan earlier this week and got them mixed up. Thx

Ordering direct does in stock mean on the shelf? A bit back people were waiting a couple weeks for stuff getting printed iirc.

No. There is a 3-4 week backlog. The page also states this. In stock means there is an available order/manufacturing spot open that’s not spoken for yet.

These will likely remain on a backorder due to demand for a bit.

I just shot about 150 rounds through mine at the outdoor range on my 11.5 SBR. The barrel is an 11.5 Centurion CHF and I am using a Geissele H3 buffer with a super 42 spring. I also brought my Dillon DRC556 with to compare.

Sound
The Rhino S sounded similar to the Dillon, but the Rhino had a higher pitch. Both were very quiet and I had no issues shooting them without hearing protection for a few shots.

Back pressure
The Rhino S definitely had more back pressure than the Dillon. Ejection on both with 5.56 pressure ammo was about 2 to 3 o'clock. While shooting the Rhino though I would get a decent amount of gas coming out of the ejection port. The Dillon had almost none. My CAT WB and B&T print XH have basically zero.

Sparking
I shot the can at dusk and I got a few sparks out of the front. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as my CAT WB Ti though.

Overall, the Rhino S is 5 to 6 ounces lighter than the Dillon, was about half the price when I ordered the Rhino S, is the same on sound, but is higher back pressure.

Have both a Rhino x and a Sahara 300 waiting on me at the dealer. Going to defer till Jan 1st though just to save the $400.
