I went to apply the AAC supplied Rocksett for my 51t flash hider and it came out of the tube clumpy. I have installed devices with Rocksett before, and it's always been a gel type consistency.

Now that I don't have any more good Rocksett, will red lock tight work?

Doesn't have the same temp resistance

Red Loctite is only rated to 450 degrees Fahrenheit while high temp Rocksett is rated to 2,000 or 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have never used Rocksett or anything else for a muzzle device.  I tighten and go, never an issue.  I have had an issue getting a muzzle device off that was put on with Rocksett, rotated my barrel trying to get it off.

Order a small bottle direct from Flexbar off of eBay - cheapest way to get fresh stuff.

I think red Loctite would like work much better than a bunch of dancing women.

All you need is love Torque.

I've used rocksett and loctite, and damned if they don't work just like the many I only torqued properly.

I used blue loctite and some torque. I'm about 600 rounds in on my mpx. No issue yet.  I've seen a few other people on the forums say they used blue loctite with no issues.

I like threads to last, and with the heat and the carbon build up, that means anti-seize on threads screwed on, removed and wiped clean of 90% of the anti-seize and torqued.

Keeps the crap out of the threads, and removable.

I save loctite for automotive or parts I have no plans to remove.

When applied to clean, degrased threads and torqued properly, red locktite does wel. In my opinion, rocksett will provide additional insurance and I what I use.

Either way, the key Is to make sure your threads are clean, oil free, and torqued properly.

Red Loctite 271 works better IMO.

Red Loctite is what several suppressor manufacturers recommend over Rocksett.

I've personally used 271 on dozens of muzzle devices, suppressor mounts, comps, etc.  IT DOESN'T MOVE unless you put a big wrench to it.

500° F is when it starts to lose some strength, but is still has a tenacious grip at elevated temps.
