I went to apply the AAC supplied Rocksett for my 51t flash hider and it came out of the tube clumpy. I have installed devices with Rocksett before, and it's always been a gel type consistency.
Now that I don't have any more good Rocksett, will red lock tight work? |

I like threads to last, and with the heat and the carbon build up, that means anti-seize on threads screwed on, removed and wiped clean of 90% of the anti-seize and torqued.
Keeps the crap out of the threads, and removable. I save loctite for automotive or parts I have no plans to remove. |

Red Loctite 271 works better IMO.
Red Loctite is what several suppressor manufacturers recommend over Rocksett. I've personally used 271 on dozens of muzzle devices, suppressor mounts, comps, etc. IT DOESN'T MOVE unless you put a big wrench to it. 500° F is when it starts to lose some strength, but is still has a tenacious grip at elevated temps. |
