I just got my Rugged Obsidian in and the manufacturer recommends cleaning the baffles for an hour in an ultrasonic cleaner with 50/50 solution of purple power and water. I bought a harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner but I discovered that it only cleans in maximum intervals of 8 minutes.
I got on amazon and ebay and started researching spending $100-150 on an ultrasonic cleaner thats 20 khz or 40 khz at 180 watts... but then it occurred to me that I could probably just clean the baffles in my Thumblers tumbler with SS pins. Do I need a ultrasonic cleaner to clean a Liberty Regulator suppressor with a SS monocore and the Rugged Obsidian with SS baffles or should I just toss the monocore of the liberty in the tumbler with electrical tape on the threads? What do you use? |

What do you use? Probably overthinking it a bit. Start with a mild solvent and a brush. They don't need to be spotless, just get the debris off. Besides .22lr cans, I'm not cleaning much of anything very often, aside from spraying ballistol in after each session. |
| I had the same questions and I tend to over think things but I like details. Here is a link to my thread. Hope this helps. |
