Kimber is using this small thread on their centerfire rifles. Only they know why.
Maybe worth asking if they sell replacement caps.

There are a lot of guys on eBay selling TPs. Maybe reach out to one and see if they'll make you one. That's how I got a couple fake cans made to the specs I wanted.
