We've had a number of people ask about making a three-lug adapter for the Ti-Rant 45 silencer that is compatible with the three-lug barrels of the B&T APC45. Having not yet handled an APC45, I was hoping some of the readers here might be able to answer a couple of questions for me.

1) I know the smooth area ahead of the lugs is larger on the three-lug 45 Auto barrel than the 9mm barrel. Are the lugs the same size for both 9 and 45, or different?
2) Three-lug barrels and adapters all seem to be pretty standard. Are the various 45 Auto three-lug barrels and adapters standard as well?

I appreciate your insights,

The lugs are the same size as the 9mm's.
I could be wrong but the only two companies that I know of that 45 three lugs are B&T and Griffin Armament. B&T release their's first, you'll have to ask Griffin if they got with B&T when they developed their adapters.

Also....please don't forget about us M16x1 LH Kriss Vector 45 owners with TiRant 45's.  We'll also need an adapter and mount.

Thanks for the reply 59chevy.

I know the original H&K spec 9mm three-lug barrel is 15mm diameter in front of the lugs. Would you happen to know the diameter of the barrel in front of the lugs on your B&T?

Thanks again,

You're already covered! Use the existing M16 x 1 LH Ti-Rant 45 piston in conjunction with our new tensioned fixed-barrel spacer and you're good to go.

Email Q to and A from Griffin:
Q:  Will your 3 LUG INTERFACE ASSEMBLY FOR .40 S&W, 10MM, AND .45 ACP work with the B&T 45?
A:  Don't think so. Haven't tested it.  Thanks.

Yep...running that now.  That new tensioned fixed barrel spacer is really nice.  But...I got spoiled with the 9mm 3-lugs and was hoping for a QD solution for the Kriss.

I ran into the same problem with when I got my APC45. But now they do make a 45 three lug adapter
When I asked them about a 45 adapter they responded by saying they didn't know a 45 cal three lug existed.

Cary Lewis of Hi Cailber Manufacturing in Ashland, VA (804) 955-8300 is reverse engineering a tri-lug for the AAC Tirant  45 for the B&T 45 APC.  Not sure how close to market he is.
