What are some of the more unique hosts you've seen or shot?

Really digging the idea of a Marlin 1895 lever or Ruger bolt gun in .38 special, even seen a few H&R single shots on youtube that looked pretty fun.

Just thinking of ideas that may not even be very practical, but are just fun shooters.

Nagant Revolver. Maybe not the most "out there" host as it's been done a few times now, but certainly interesting.

I have a Nylon 66 threaded for a can, the barrel is easy to dismount so getting it threaded is pretty easy.

Not unique in that it's a Glock, but that it's 10mm 40MOS. It actually suppresses rather well. Have a Glock 20 suppressor ready and waiting on a barrel for my new Delta Elite Rail gun. Have an 1895 45-70 host also, but my favorite is a SOCOM 16 with Gemtech quick mount flash hider suppressed with a One. Absolutely the quietest .308 I've heard suppressed myself.

My Marlin 1894 was a dumpster fire compete with worse customer service than the ATF at Waco.

Wouldn't feed after multiple trips to Remington to be fixed. And I bought it brand new.

Depends on what you want....  Cheap ammo?  Quietest?  Shortest gun?  Caliber you already shoot?  Semi auto?  Ammo capacity? Cheapest/easiest to thread?

the only thing out of the ordinary I have silenced is a lever action.  I went with it because I stumbled on the rifle for a good price, it holds lots of bulkets(8mag, 9 or 10special), I already reload 44 on the cheap, and it is small/light with a 16 inch barrel.

I'm very happy with my Rossi.  Handloads with fast powders are much quieter than I thought they would be, not any louder than a silenced 22 pistol.

Eta: the Ruger bolts are low capacity and magazines are expensive.  I'm much happier with lever actions.

That's because you have a 16" gun. Cut that down to an 8" - 10" barrel like most of the guys who have a silenced 77/357 and it's a different story. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I am very excited about my Ruger 96/22 SBR that will have a 6" Kidd Innovative Design barrel once my stamp comes back.  I have never seen or heard of anyone doing this, so decided I'd try it.  It is already ridiculously quiet with a 12" barrel and welded 4" shroud (see video).  I had Diversified Innovative Products (everyone is "innovating" these days!) machine a picatinny rail (not pictured) for it so I can run an NV scope and RDS interchangeably with QD mounts.

Have been waiting for 9 months on the stamp, so shouldn't be long.  Will keep this post as a placeholder for pics once everything comes back.  Getting the stock cut down properly without ruining it is the only hangup I'm worried about.

Another semi-oneoff I have is a Ruger Mark II cut down to just under 3 inches.  It points so well that I can shoot without sights.  Part of me wishes I had gone an inch shorter, but the only person I found who had done that reported he would not do it again due to feeding issues.

The next project I would like to tackle is a Jennings J-22.  Morgan at Class III tells me it *might* be doable, but this needs more exploring.

Can you set screw the gas block?
4/12/2017 11:59:02 AM EDT

Yes. Experimenting with that now. Setscrew size 8-32. Drilled 1/16" not enough gas to cycle unsuppressed. Trying 5/64" next and venting the gas tube.

Have run vented gas tube only, but it is a lot of venting.

Tagged cause I like unusual guns and my ghost is still in jail.

I have H&R handi rifles in 357 and 300 BO. The 300 is threaded and I probably will send the 357 barrel off to be threaded and shoot 38's out of it.

My contribution is a Browning BAR ShortTrac in .308 Win. Threading was done by none other than Morgan at Class III Machining. It was the first BAR he threaded but it has been perfect. One great feature of the BAR family of rifles is the gas block is user adjustable via set screws. I did a full disassembly/assembly thread found here.

Thanks! I wasn't trying to end up with a "beautiful" firearm but I've been told that by numerous others so I'll take it. As a side, I think SilencerCo created the Harvester specifically for this gun. It's 1.375" OD lends itself to not look too large on the end of the barrel and the light weight keeps the rifle from feeling front heavy. The stainless ring at the base of the suppressor also ties in the color scheme of the raw finished receiver. The barrel is cut back to 17.5" which also helps the package look purposeful and not unwieldy.
