Anybody done business with Capitol Armory? Looking at buying my 1st suppressor and noticed that they had an "Easy Pay" option to basically pay on a suppressor for 4 months but starts the paperwork immediately. Any other companies do this?
3/9/2017 2:26:40 PM EDT
[#1]
Did a couple of cans and an SBS via them before the new regs.   Painless.

CA is top notch. You can't go wrong with several of the vendors here on ARFCOM.

CA
Quiet Riot
Silencer Shop
Hansohn Brothers

These are just the ones I've dealt with and would buy from again.

purchased a 22 suppressor from them last year.  Easy to work with and great support.

I would buy from them again.

Good deal. Anybody purchased using their easy pay plan? Any other vendors have a similar layaway program?

I was checking out that option too, but it really only benefits Texas residents.

For out of state customers they'll start the form 3 with the "easy pay" but require payment in full before starting you can start the form 4.  It would buy you a month or so until the form 3 clears, but really defeats the purpose of monthly payments while you wait for the form 4 to clear.

I purchased 6 cans from them. I did use the easy pay on one. Cost a few bucks more but I like having the option. I may easy pay a sico pistol if I decide to get one and it's an option. It's not an automatic payment. You need to log in and pay it.

Legit and painless process!! Really easy if you are a texas resident!!
3/9/2017 3:20:51 PM EDT
[#8]
As others have said, Capitol Armory is great to work with. They are very knowledgeable and will give you unbiased suggestions without being pushy.
3/9/2017 3:25:11 PM EDT
[#9]
Legit. 2 cans and many accessories from them.
3/9/2017 3:27:10 PM EDT
[#10]
Perfect. Not a TX resident so I'm not sure the easy pay helps as much now that I look at it.

One other question, trust or no? It used to be that it made sense but I haven't looked into it in a while.

[#11]
Top notch group over there. Buy with confidence
3/9/2017 3:40:04 PM EDT
[#12]
They're GTG.  Got my SAS Barricade from them.
3/9/2017 4:15:42 PM EDT
[#13]
I've bought 5 cans from them.  No problems.   Good communication from the boss on things.   I swapped out a few accessories.  Shipping has been fast.  They still have my 5 cans which is big damn problem but not their fault.    I've bought several accessorries from them for various suppressors.  They seem to run really good deals on add ons during the holidays.   Rest easy.

I thought about easy pay when I was buying stuff prior to 41F to get a few more things.  I'm too damn cheap to pay the fee though.  Silencers, cheap.   did I just say that?
3/9/2017 4:21:32 PM EDT
[#14]
I have used them several times, and I'm sure I will again in the future. My opinion is that they're a little pricier than I prefer, but did just fine on the purchases I have made. Question though - why would you finance a suppressor? Not to jump into your financial picture, but that is definitely a bad idea. Have you read the terms? Deposit+15% service fee? Seems like you could/should just save up that money on your own. No one needs to start paperwork that will take another 8 months so bad to pay extra for it.

[#15]
I did Easy Pay with them on my last can back in May 2016. Seamless online interface and great communication.

I live close enough so I drove down and picked up the can when my stamp came back. The store was small but nice, staff was courteous and quick.

I would buy again with zero hesitation.

They are great, bought several things from them and all went very smooth.

I've bought 3 cans from them. All 3 without problems.
At this point I can't see a reason to buy from anywhere else.

Awesome people to deal with. The easy pay is a pretty awesome feature if you have to form 3.

I did several that way and would do it again.

[#19]
Purchased two cans through them now.  Super easy, super nice to deal with, zero issues, pleasant to talk to and will answer your questions anytime you call.   Great people.

I fucking LOVE the guys over at Capitol Armory. They're the only out-of-state place I will go to for cans. They have their shit dialed in. I know what is going on with my orders, their website works great, and if there's an issue- they'll get it sorted. I have changed orders, returned orders and never a problem. My SOT hasn't had any issues receiving anything from them. I have purchased 5 cans from them, along with accessories. No issues.

If you have a credit card, do the math. Most of the time it's cheaper to charge it and make 3-4 payments...the interest would be cheaper than their fee.

That being said, top notch organization. I even got the chance to go visit them when in the area for business, and even went out to the range with Joshua.

Bought my Harvester 30 from them, easy transaction
3/10/2017 4:40:38 PM EDT

Bought my Osprey 45K and just received it today. I liked ordering process.

On the financing, I was going to post something similar to what Big Waylon posted. No delay on the Form 4 paperwork either.

I haven't purchased from CA but they sure seem to have earned some nice endorsements here on arfcom based on members' posts.

I think you will come to a different conclusion when you read this quote, from the CA site:

"Please note that your order is not available for pick up or shipment to your local FFL/SOT dealer until your Easy Pay order is paid in full. However, you can pay the remainder of your Easy Pay balance at any time if your approval from the BATFE arrives before your Easy Pay order is paid in full. Easy Pay is similar to a layaway program, but with longer than average terms. Easy Pay is not limited to NFA items and suppressors."

Capitol Armory is definitely gtg, I've bought all my cans from them. I've also had them engrave my lower while I wait. No complaints, they are very knowledgeable.

For Easy Pay, the paperwork is done right away.  Order comes in, get's processed, paperwork is all in motion and payments are done while we're waiting on the ATF.

The above statement (from a few posts up) means that the physical item has to be paid off in full before it leaves our shop.  So if you're on Form 3 and it's not paid when the form is approved, it won't ship physically to your dealer until money is all squared up.  (although paperwork is back and approved.)

Thank you everyone for the kind words!

How about Form 4 paperwork?

Thanks,

Absolutely with Form 4 paperwork-- paperwork starts immediately

Great. Thanks for the clarification.

Might want to update that website page from which I quoted, makes the option much more attractive!

Bought multiple suppressors from them and they are good to go.

+1

I've ordered one can and several accessories for another can from them. Had some hiccups due to the manufacturer and they went above and beyond to get me squared away. Even for a can they didn't sell me.

[#43]
That is they way they all should do it.  In a seller's market, you have no choice.  I would say it is a buyer's market right now.

The Myriad of new companies will need to be pretty innovative to stay in business this next couple years, unless the HPA passes.  Then I would expect a lot of the parts to come from overseas.

Same goes for AR15 manufacturers.  Many of the top names are taking a severe beating because they ignored the consumer market.  Some of the suppressor manufacturers hitched their wagon to the same horse.

CA is definetly good to go.

Great guys over there

I do alot of business with them.

Nothing but good to say, bought two cans from them.  Forms were filed right away, email communication at each step, perfect IMHO.  Never used the easy pay so can't speak for how that works.

My second can from them should be in my hands next week. I've had no issues and they have fantastic communication during the process. Buy from them with confidence.

I bought 3 cans and a couple mounts from them. They are GTG. I emailed they twice with questions and Torrey replied very quickly.

FWIW, Hanson Bros is also a decent shop. They're in rural VA SW of D.C. but I travel to their area sporadically for work. I dropped into their store a few months ago (basement of the owners home). They're good people and I wouldn't have an issue giving them money.

Buy with confidence. Capitol Armory is top notch. I ordered my Dead Air Wolverine PBS-1 from them last fall. They truly excel in the customer service department. Jorge has always taken the time to answer my questions and notify me when a item that I requested was back in stock. As a result, they have earned my business as a repeat customer. I placed my second order with them last week for a SureFire SOCOM 5.56 RC2.
