| I am having a GSG-5 cut and threaded for a suppressor adapter. Based on the ones readily available, the Sig Misquito adapter seems to fit my needs. The barrel will be cut to 8.25" and threaded M9x.75 RH. The problem is I don't how far back the shoulder is one the Mosquito barrel for the adapter to seat properly. Does anyone here know the spec for the thread length to set the shoulder? |

Whoever is doing the threading should also have the adapter on hand; they can cut the thread and shoulder to match.
The dimensions of adapters are sometimes cut to fit a range of similar barrels, possibly leaving clearances where they will only collect carbon. Might as well get it done right. |

I told the machinist I was sending in the adapter but he requested I mark the barrel for the shoulder placement. Did he explain how you're supposed to determine this "mark"? This line would have to be very exact, and still will only be as accurate as the line width. Even if you do possess a depth micrometer, or other precise measuring equipment, you would want to send a drawing of dimensions, not a scratch on the barrel. I would look for a machinist who will use that drawing, then work from his own measurements of the parts. |
