Ok so looking to pick up my first suppressor, and need some advice. I know several of these can be used for multiple calibers, and that is what I am looking to do. My question is, will a 30cal can for 300BO be as quiet on a 5.56 AR setup as a dedicated 5.56 suppressor? Or would you be able to switch out endcaps to help fix this issue?
What I shoot most: 9mm, 5.56/223 and am looking to build a 300BO upper so I plan on having that capability also. What are suggestions that can cover these bases? Pros/Cons? Thanks in advance for putting up with me

FYI you can't shoot 9mm through a 7.62 can if you weren't aware. 7.62 cans work well on 5.56, you won't be able to tell a difference with your ear between a 7.62 and 5.56 can and you will still need ear pro either way. This is what I was afraid of. I hear many people saying they shoot without ear pro, but I haven't heard one yet that I would take to the range and be able to stand shooting without it. Question- if you had to shoot an AR platform indoors(at least a few rounds) with the can would it still cause hearing damage? The main reason I am looking into this is for HD, so if it does me no good at the range that makes justifying it a little harder. |

A suppressed 5.56 would do very little damage, 300 BLK with subs will be true hearing safe and will do zero damage It should not be hard to justify at all, shooting either of the above without a can will cause immediate and substantial hearing damage. While shooting a suppressed 5.56 carbine may not be hearing safe, it's certainly much more pleasant shooting a suppressed rifle with electronic ear-pro than shooting un-suppressed. Cuts down on the concussion. Sounds like this should just give you a reason to expedite a 300 BLK upper |

As other shave already mentioned, shooting 5.56 through a .30 cal can there will be sound reduction but the bullet is still super-sonic, so you're
going to get a very loud sonic crack out of the muzzle of the suppressor. It is much more pleasant to shoot 5.56 suppressed, but not hearing safe. In a HD environment, it is still going to be ridiculously loud, just not as loud as un-suppressed. If you want an almost ideal HD rifle, go 300 Blackout, sub-sonic loads, out of a 8.5" barrel, suppressed. Hearing safe, and very maneuverable in the confines of a typical house. On a side note, I also shoot my 5.56 SBR with a .30 cal can, and though that crack is still loud, the concussive aspect of the 5.56 SBR is negated. |

You should have auditory exclusion for the moment but damage occurs and it won't be nearly as severe as touching off an unsuppressed 556 SBR in a hallway |

Thanks for all the help fellas, I have a 10.3 DD pistol but I don't currently use it for HD because of the sound issues. Not that my 9mm would be much better, but if I ever had to use it I would think it would do less permanent damage than the AR.

Sounds like this should just give you a reason to expedite a 300 BLK upper Im beginning to think this is the direction I need to be going. All I need is an upper and mags correct? Ive heard the ammo is much more costly, is that exaggerated or can you find it at decent prices online? |

Brass factory loads for $.50/R Great, I wouldn't shoot them exclusively so for .50cpr I could swing that. Thank you sir |
