I've been slowly collecting pieces to build a SBR 300 BLK over the last year and a half with plans to get a can eventually.
Since I just heard about the tightening of the gun trust rules coming up next month, I might advance the schedule and justify making the leap now. Guy at my local gun shop was recommending a SilencerCo Hybrid, but wanted to get advice here. I'm a beginner, so I don't need anything crazy, but I plan to have fun with my 300 BLK and will probably want to use it on a 308 bolt gun at some point. Is the Hybrid a good choice for me? Are there cheaper options that I should consider? |

I wanted a tank and that's what I have. My brother has a YHM Ti suppressor in 556 and then bought one in 30 cal and really likes it. I'm not sure what length the Hybrid is rated to on the 300 blk but I would assume it is rated for supers on short barrels but not certain. I'd think the Hybrid would be good if you're only going to go with one suppressor for a while. You will be able to use it on a wide variety of hosts. |

If you're just looking at 300 Blackout and 308, Omega would be a smaller, lighter, cheaper option. (Hybrid is basically a really big Omega). The Omega will run 5.56-300 Win Mag.
If you're looking for a can that will also do 47-70, 458 SOCOM, and pistol calibers... the Hybrid is a good option. Keep in mind the Hybrid provides extra versatility, but at the cost of a larger and heavier suppressor. |

For .300 and .308 Dead Air Sandman-S Rugged Razor Griffin Recce 7 SiCo Omega Any of the above are great options, and unless you plan on using it on a pistol or big bore lever gun I see no reason to go with the Hybrid Pretty much this. I've gotten a chance to shoot the Hybrid and it's a great can, but embodies the whole "jack of all trades, master of none" for me. Larger and heavier than a pistol can needs to be, but a great option for those who want a do all can. |

If I purchase a suppressor on line does the transfer have to thru a class 3 dealer or can any shop do it? <---FFL/SOT Any 01FFL (Dealer) or 07FFL (Manufacturer) can transfer NFA firearms.....but it's cheaper to do it through one who has paid their SOT (Special Occupational Tax.....often called "Class 3") If they have their SOT, it would transfer tax free on a Form 3 to your FFL/SOT... then transfer to you on a $200 Form 4. If they don't have their SOT, then it would transfer to them on a $200 Form 4....and then to you on another $200 Form 4. |

Thanks for the advice guys.
I hadn't realized that the SilencerCo Hybrid was bigger and more versatile than I probably need. I'll be shooting 300 BLK (both subs and super) and I'm planning on getting either a 308 bolt gun or an AR-10, so I want my can to be able to be used there too, but I don't need anything crazy. I do have a FNX 45, but don't see much reason to put a can on that right now, and as I understand it, most any 30 cal can will kinda work on my 5.56 AR's |

They are just a little heavier |

Still reading, and I'm starting to come back around to the SilencerCo Hybrid again.
It's not the shortest can out there, but the other specs are pretty dang good: 13.8 oz and only 123.7 dB for 300 BLK. As far as I can tell, those specs are not far from any of the dedicated 30 cal suppressors. I also like that I can get a piston and use it on my FNX 45, or on a future lever gun, or even if I built a .458 SOCOM. Seems like a good choice for a first time buyer that doesn't know when he'll be able to convince he wife to let him buy another. |

So far, I've only shot it on a 9mm pistol but it sounded really good. I'm having my 458 socom barrel chopped/threaded right now and intend to do more testing with it as soon as I get it back. I'll shoot it on a 300blk, 556, and the 458 and report my findings. |

Looks like I won't beat the deadline anyways.
Comparing all the specs, I think that the SilcencerCo Hybrid is the one that I want, but no one locally has them in stock right now. No sense in buying the wrong suppressor early just to beat the hassle of doing the fingerprint thing. |

I have a Sig SRD762Ti-QD that just got approved (waiting for the stamp)
I got it specifically for my .308 and .300 Blk guns. the LGS had it in stock and that was one of the main drivers for me picking it up - plus I like the tubeless design and the lightweight of it. |
