So I'm going tomorrow to file a form 4 for a new can which just came in on a form 3.
Trying to decide which route to take..... Should I file individually or with my trust? Done both during the past. Either way works for me. CLEO signs off same day... I'm just trying to figure out which way will be quicker. Any input? Any thoughts? I have a feeling that trust waits from December through now are going to skyrocket..... |

Unless you want it for a specific hunting season, I wouldn't try and time the market. Just be happy when the stamp shows up. |

Individual has been faster recently. But, they easily could've shifted examiners in the last month or so and it's going to be reversed soon. Exactly what I'm concerned about! I have been planning to go individual on this can, but based on nfatracker, they seem to be trending opposite again. Trusts going down, individuals going up. Definitely excellent advice goloud...but very tough to live by

Never called to check pending, never called to check for approval. Dealer let me know when check was cashed, then called to let me know stamps arrived. Only two about two dozen suppressors to get to that point. |

If only there was some kind of electronic form system that you could plug in your serial number and get a status online. Someday. |

I decided to submit with the trust. Its a gamble either way.
As far as not checking...... Since august last year I have submitted 3 forms. 2 of those 3 have had issues.....where if I hadn't called, I wouldn't have known, and I lost time because I didn't call sooner. This is the fourth since then and on this form 3 I lost time because the ATF never received the fax from the manufacturer. Luckily I caught this one as well. Ive had 50/50 luck with the ATF, but what I have learned is that nobody who deals with your stuff cares at all when or if you ever get your form back and your item. Its up to you to make sure its progressing correctly through the system. Just my 2 cents. |
