I am looking into buying a 9mm suppressor for my pistol/soon to be SBR. I now have a 10.5" barrel and a KX5 under a 12" MI hand rail. A Gemtech GM-9 will fit under the rail so I can a) drop to a shorter barrel and b) cover part of the suppressor with the rail.

Reading reviews there are some issues with people not liking the actual sound suppression of the GM9 vs some coned baffle style suppressors.

Is there anything similar to the GM9 that suppresses the sound better and still has the slim OD? If so what are your recommendations.

And if you have a GM9 would you recommend it or recommend not getting it over a competitor?

For a subgun or PCC, I would get a big, fat silencer. Small OD silencers give up a lot in the way of suppression in order to be more user friendly on pistols. Something with a 3-lug mount is ideal, especially if you want to run it under the handguards. Just get a bigger ID rail if you need to. You'll already be changing a lot of other stuff on the rifle.

I guess a bigger rail would be best. I'd like to hold the MI suppressor rail to see how it feels. I could always just just use a shorter rail. You are probably right and I potentially just started a thread with a stupid question because I wasn't thinking. Lol
