To shed a bit of light on the trust through our site versus a lawyer...
Starting out, it was done by a fantastic gun trust lawyer who keeps tabs on the trust... so on the end user's side of things it's basically a form that gets filled out and a condensed version of the lawyers trust is returned. What isn't really seen is that the trusts are inspected in case the user has any typographical errors or input into the form that just doesn't make any sense. We wanted to do that for guys that may just want a suppressor or two, and that's it. This way, they could have an affordable option that was prepared by a lawyer, and still reviewed by a lawyer on the back end of things.
The big difference between Gun Trust Guru and the lawyer that created it is that if I need any special circumstances or provisions in the trust (as well as just needing to talk lawyer stuff) I can have it with a phone call. It isn't about ATF approval, but rather estate planning and protecting investments.
I see it as being fairly similar to a gun safe... the guy that owns a beat up DPMS AR and a Maverick 88 probably doesn't need an extremely high end 50 gun safe, they just need something smaller but still solid quality. However if that same guy plans to expand the collection, or already has a nice collection--- then go big starting out. It really just boils down to different needs for different people.
