Help me decide......

Need to panic buy a Mist.   I'm torn between the regular and takedown version.  My dealer has both.  Price is a non-issue.

I don't any hosts for either right now.  I'm guessing a T3 Summit would work for the normal version.

Pros or cons?  Feedback on your thought process?  Do you really find yourself breaking down the Ruger TD as it was intended?  What route would you go?

I'm considering one as well...and don't have a 10/22. My first question was if the TD version fits on a non-TD host. Judging by this description, it sounds like it would:

The Gemtech MIST-22 Take Down is an integrated suppressor/barrel for use with 10/22 type receivers and take down stock. This specific model will fit any standard 10/22 receiver and is compatible with virtually any stock that accommodates a bull barrel. The barrel shroud is easily removed for access to the monolithic baffle core for cleaning and general maintenance. The Hogue take down stocks are available as well in black as an option.

If that's the case, it's a no-brainer.  Anybody know for sure?

The takedown barrel is specific to the takedown receiver.  I don't see anyway to make a barrel that would work for both the takedown and the standard 10/22.

the shank on the TD is completely different than the standard 10/22.

I'm planning on getting the TD version.  I kept trying to decide which to do, so I'm going to SBR a regular 10/22 and use a regular suppressor, then get an integral TD Suppressor.

Good to know, thanks. I really ought to buy a 10/22 at some point.

Why is it everytime I see your pics, I spend more money.

If you only had to pick one.  Which and why?

Haven't spent much time with the TD, but so far it seems like the original Mist if more consistent, accuracy-wise. I'd definitely go fixed barrel if I had to choose between the two, it's just the TD model scratched that certain itch for me...good luck.

This is correct. The TD version is only or the takedown factory Ruger 10/22.

If you do not yet have a host weapon, I would strongly suggest getting the standard MIST and a normal 10/22. You will need a stock for the 10/22 inletted for a bull barrel, which is the diameter of the MIST unit.

Was in your shoes a few wks back. I went with the standard mist version, only because I am going to be using a PWS summit action for the quietest combo   The summit action will not work with the takedown model.

I just put a TD Mist in jail. I bought a used TD specifically for the Mist. Next comes the optic and trigger. I fell in love with a friends TD/Mist combo.
