I asked this a few days ago in the SilencerCo forum but didn't get a response. Surely someone here will know the answer.
I picked up my Octane 45K from the dealer last Saturday. I also have the 3-lug mount adapter. I've searched the minimal instructions that came with the can as well as SilencerCo's website and can't find the answer to this question: Do I leave the spring in or take it out when attaching the 3-lug adapter? Thanks for any guidance. |

Thanks for any guidance. Take out the rear endcap/piston spring/piston assembly and replace it with the 3-lug adapter assembly. The 3-lug adapter assembly has its own spring within it - and that stays when you attach the adapter assembly. |

Keep it clean, too. If you don't disassemble the mount now and then and clean it, the spring action gets sluggish and it doesn't hold as tight to the barrel and can cause endcap/baffle strikes. I haven't shot it yet but have disassembled it. It looks to have some type of lithium grease in it. Should I apply grease after cleaning it? |

Keep the spring and the housing it is in clean and lubricated, or else the spring can get bound as another member has posted, and this could potentially cause issues. Both my SiCo and Gemtech 3-lug mount are this way, and before I mount/use them I open them up and apply fresh grease |
