So I'm looking at getting a suppressor for my 300 blackout pistol. I know nothing about suppressors so I am going in blind. I've checked out silencershop and noticed a few direct thread suppressor under $600.
$600 is my budget for the suppressor. I currently have no other guns I can suppress, so I'm not currently interested in any kind of QD mounts. So what suggestions for direct thread, under $600 suppressors do you guys recommend? |

For under $600
AAC 762-SD Silencerco Harvester If you could up your budget to $700 Sliencero Specwar You could also go with a pistol can, but then you are limited to only shooting subsonic 300. You're better off getting a 30cal can, then down the road you can use it on other stuff if you add to your collection (308, 556, etc.) |
| $600 is my budget. And I want one that can handle supersonic because as is my barrel is recessed about 1.5" under my quad rail with a linear comp on it, so I would be shooting with the can on unless I wanted to take the time to reinstall the comp. And I don't want to buy a new quadrail right now. ID of the rail is 1.7" and from what I've seen very few suppressors wouldn't fit under it. |
| Looks like only ones that fit my budget and will fit in my quad rail are the Sig SRD762, YH Phantom (if its a direct thread, I cant figure out if I need the phantom brake or not), or the SilencerCo Harvester but in the description for it they say sustained semi auto fire will cause it to split? |

I went with the specwar 762, but it's not a direct thread.
I'm running a 10.3" ballistic advantage barrel with the SLR 9.7" ion series rail and the specwar is literally a 1/8" from the rail when mounted. The specwar 762 is about the best you can buy as far as actual sound suppression is concerned and it is very, very affordable. It is also heavy and long too though. You need to ask yourself what is most important. To me, actual sound suppression was the most important and the ability to use it with 308 and 300 win mag (and semi-auto fire). The specwar fit both of those bills. That is a very low budget for suppressors so unfortunately your selection is limited. Are you figuring in the $200 tax and/or the cost of doing a trust in your budget? |

Also in theory I COULD use a quick disconnect, but with it being under my quad rail, it wouldn't really be quick disconnect. My rail uses the from what I'm seeing is the Yankee Hill jam nut on the quad rail, plus a screw in bolt on the bottom to hold the quad rail in place. So not hard to remove, but defeats the purpose of a QD Mount |

The SDN6 is a pig, 19.85 oz. For less than $600, look at the GRIFFIN ARMAMENT SPORTSMAN DT. Quoted:

In your range... SDN-6. The SDN6 is a pig, 19.85 oz. For less than $600, look at the GRIFFIN ARMAMENT SPORTSMAN DT. Its also very quiet, at least with my 300 BO. I have no complaints with the SDN5. Mounts are readily available, lock up well, and the suppressor works well with a number of calibers. |

I have a Phantom Q2 quick disconnect on my 300. I have several 300s so the quick disconnect is good for me. It has no latch, just ratchets on, so it will work under a hand guard. They also make it in a screw on. They are heavy, but built like a tank. I assume you mean M2? And while the Griffin armament should technically fit, my ID measures 1.7, they say those run 1.695. That might be a bit close. And the 762-sdn is over my budget. |

All (seven) of my mounts lock up fine with minimal wiggle. For me and it's limited applications, it's more than suitable. |

Screw thread-on cans. This can is perfect for what you want:
http://www.silencershop.com/silencers/7-62mm-rifle/griffin-armament-sportsman-tm.html? Light as hell, will eat up supersonic ammo, great company, taper mount, etc. Under $600. |

So decided I could spare an extra $100. So in terms of strength and how well it suppresses, is the specwar just about the best you can get for under $700? I don't care about weight or length. Remember it has a locking ring so you won't be able to recess it under your rail. |
| Yeah I know. This one was a $20 special I bought because I was trying to see how cheap I could go and still have a decent build. So I'm not too upset if it has to go. Plus with as long as it takes to actually get the suppressor I'm sure I could find a replacement before it arrives |
