I've never been a big .22 guy. I have a plain jane, non threaded stainless 10-22 that I bought at Wal-Mart just because it popped up during the last panic. My other .22 rifle is a
S&W M&P15-22 that is threaded.

I have a Spectre .22 in jail now with an ETA of mid -April. What do you recommend I acquire between now and that would be an awesome host for my Spectre? Pistols, more semi-auto's, bolt-actions, let me hear it!

Thanks!

I also have a spectre in jail... I went with a 10/22 takedown with the hogue over molded stock and tac sol bull barrel.... For my pistol as 22/45 lite with a Burris fast Fire III and various TandemKross and Volquartsen upgrades.  Love them both

OP, Thread all things.

S&W 22-A threaded by www.jpgrips.com

Pirate mode Ruger Charger threaded by www.jpgrips.com

"SIG Pistol" mode  Ruger Charger

Also have a 77/22 and 1022 I use it on.
And I just bought a CZ 455 combo in 17HMR/22LR that is due back from bbl threading today.

A pistol (Ruger 22/45/SR22/M&P22C/Browning Buckmark) and a bolt action rifle (Savage Mark II FV-SR/Ruger RAR/CZ) are musts.

I'm really enjoying this combo

For a pistol, both the 22/45 and buck mark make great hosts, I have and enjoy both.  However the 22/45 lites come ready to go.

On a rifle I do not think the RAR can be beat for price, accuracy, and suppression.  But the fit and finish is utilitarian at best.  It's not as popular as the fvsr in here but they are great shooters.

After those I would look at a semiauto rifle and it would be between a 10/22 and an AR in 22... I have a 4.5" AR upper that is a blast but it is a range toy and not the most accurate thing.

Ruger mk3 or 22-45 lite. They last a long time.

Colt 1911-22. It is a quieter host than the Ruger.

CZ 455. Surprising quality.

10/22 takedown with SBX barrel. Very light weight and SBR like shortness.

I also have a Spectre II coming sometime in April (Hopefully!)

For hosts, I have a Browning Buckmark that I had the barrel cut down to 4" and threaded:

I also have a Savage FV-SR in .22lr:

I just finished threading my Savage .17 HMR:

And I also threaded the fluted bull barrel on my Ruger 10/22:

This is the winner. I don't have one, but lust after it!

Lots of great hosts out there. The PPQ .22 is a favorite. As is the S&W M&P Compact .22. The MKIII is the gold standard in accuracy IMO. For rifles, the Savage FV SR is an obvious choice. The Sig 522 is fun suppressed as well.

I have a Dead Air Mask due about the same time yours is due to be freed. I am having my 10/22 threaded, for $50 I could not pass it up.  I recently acquired a 22/45 lite and Savage FVSR.  I fell into a deal on a Sig Mosquito that I could not pass up this fall, must have got a good one because I have had zero FTF or FTE with the little pistol.
