Saturday was our first time out with the Octane 9HD, since we received the stamp.  I don't have any experience with others suppressors, and I wanted to post a little video to get some opinions of others. I was very pleased. Host was a Glock 19 shooting 124gr FMJ. My question is... Will 147gr be noticeably quieter than the 124gr? We enjoyed our first NFA experience and looking forward to many more trips to the range. Thanks for the input!

147gr will be a huge difference. Not even comparable. You need to buy a box of them and then you'll really be impressed.

It did not sound like that 124 was going supersonic, so I don't think 147gr would be any quieter.  May be a little louder, in fact.  I'd try .22's out of it, too, as it does a decent job of suppressing those, even on my Octane 45.

Should be a very noticeable difference, at least with most factory loads. The 147gr should be subsonic, where the 124gr usually isn't. We all know iPhone videos don't accurately reproduce exactly how it sounds, but I shot this one just to show people the difference in subs vs supers. Loaded a mag rotating through 115/124/147. Two sets unsuppressed, the rest suppressed. It's not hard to pick out the 147gr shots. This was on a 7" AR, but my Glocks perform very similar. I have another video with a Glock, but somebody else was shooting at the same time and several of their shots were taken at the same time as my 147gr shots, so it's not as clear on the difference. Won't be as big a difference outside, as the supersonic crack is moving away from you instead of bouncing off the walls/ceiling of the indoor range...but should be a difference. As mentioned, it's kinda hard to tell from the vid if the crack was present...thought I heard it bouncing off the trees, but not sure.

Hard to tell from the video if you were getting that supersonic crack. But try some subsonic stuff and compare. You can also try shooting wet for improved sound reduction.

Thanks for all the input guys. I appreciate the great info and video.  I can't wait to get back out and try the 147gr.

Thank you for fixing the vid link.

I agree with all above.

I actually traded a lot of my 115/124 to a guy for his 147s.

Octane 9 was my first 9mm can and I liked it a lot, but after getting the Tirant 9... even quieter
