I am thinking of building a sub 5" can to attach on a griffin taper mount. Can anybody tell me the internal layout of the new mini cans on the market today? Baffle count, spacing?
Thanks |

Mine will only be 4 3/4" total length so my usable baffle space is only 2-3 inches. Right now I am thinking VSR as a blast baffle and then 3 freezeplug baffles stacked on that for a total of 4 baffles. The bore will by .37" on the baffles but the end cap will be .28". Whats your plan for the baffles? Custom? Freezplugs? VSRs? |

Whats your plan for the baffles? Custom? Freezplugs? VSRs? Almost exactly like Hk94's, but with a formed fender washer instead of the VSR and possibly a flat blast baffle. Still debating the blast baffle, cone vs flat. ETA... Mine will be direct thread. I'm not a big fan of brake mounts for most applications. |

You will have a shorter stack that will be louder, but has Hk94dude as shown you can still get really impressive results (he was using a tube that had a larger ID which I am sure helped). On machined Cones I would still stay with .50" pacing, on Freeze plugs stack them (difficult to make miniature spacers so I would just stick with the skirt size as the spacer), on the VR .65-75" spacing depending on the specific retainer. I have two tubes that should be tested soon with very short stacks because of a reflex mount that is being made for them and I am sticking with the above. |

Here is a micro 223 suppressor I built that is just under 4" long and lives in my 7.5" SBR (works great). It might give you an idea of spacing. My baffles are machined from 17-4SS. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/bjgunner/713E750E-BB7C-4EBC-95C8-27FD14DA409C-7210-0000096CFAE00EC9_zps41afff8c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v239/bjgunner/AA0EE413-1951-4C99-AE8E-44C981DCDA61-7210-0000096D17889759_zps8147d0c2.jpg Can you get some video comparing the chub to the full size can? |
