We had been friends "online" for a couple years and then all finally met up in person down in GA near that range. Had an absolute blast, and I was so thankful to the owner for being so generous. I think we left $100 there. Really cool. |

The AEM5 feels a little too long for the mini NSW recce. Thinking about an AEM2 or 3 to really make it a mini NSW but can’t decide. Doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot of difference between the two. Any input?

So, my dealer THSF where I have an AEM5 in jail has AEM3s. What is the best application for a 3? Have scoured the net and can't really find anything that spells out barrels, correct collar etc. I'm assuming an M4 barrel profile and perhaps asking Ron to make a custom collar depending on which barrel I choose?
I ask as i may talk myself into another build...lol...and grab one those 3s from him. Any info would be appreciated. |

Posted in the MK12 thread too...
If anyone is looking for an AEM5 in Houston, Collector’s Firearms had 2 in the case Saturday. I think one was $609 and one was $669. No idea on why the apparent pricing difference... The tags were a bit obscured and the place was pretty busy, so I didn’t ask. |

Someone in the MK12 thread got the first one. Glad I could help a few people out. If I hadn’t grabbed one from Capitol Armory a few weeks ago, I probably woulda grabbed one for myself.

Collar is the M4 MBS style also compatible with Spikes Tactical collars and mounts. |

Question:
Would I need an AEM5 in 6.5Grendel or AEM5-30 to fit Ballistic Advantage's 6.5 Grendel SPR profiled barrels? I see an AE30 in 6.5 for sale and wasn't sure it would fit due to the barrel profiles being different. Have AEMB mount and spr collars on all my 6.5 grendel ballistic advantage SPR barrels. |

I now have all the parts for the mod 1 and mod H sitting and awaiting being built. I thought getting an AE Suppressor in .264 would be easy enough but it hasn't. See one in the EE but it's an AE 30 and don't believe it will work due to the barrel profiles of the 6.5grendel matching the AEM5 requirements. Thats why I came on this thread to see if someone can give me a definitive answer. |

I'd have to measure my collar to confirm. The AE30 was with thicker bolt gun barrel use in mind where the "collar" would be machined into the barrel profile itself. Then the other difference would be the lack of muzzle device with AE30. Again I'll defer to the experts. |

Quick question for the brain trust.
I'm hoping to finish my latest build this weekend, I have an original Ops Inc muzzle brake, and I have a Spikes Vortex flash hider in my parts bin. Since this is going to be run 100% suppressed all the time, do you guys notice any difference in felt recoil between the two when the can is on? |

Was on the hunt for quite a while. Best bet to get one would be to have an AE dealer (adco, THSF, Capitol Armory, etc.) order one for you. Adco said they had one on order last I talked to them but didn’t have an eta on when it would come in. Or there’s an aem2 on adco’s site if you don’t feel like waiting... ETA: Good video here showing the ops m4s vs m4m (aem2) vs 15th model (aem3) vs 12th model (aem5). From the video the 12th and 15th sound very close. The m4m is obviously a little louder but still sounds pretty good. |

I'll have to check with Adco though Unfortunately for me its the last piece of my Diemaco C8 SFW clone, and the correct suppressor is an Ops 15th. I just can't bring myself to put an AEM2 on it, although im sure it'd be a great home for it. |
