Ordered my first center fire suppressor (Octane 45) a couple months back, and just started looking at additional Pistons. Didn't realize the octane already came with one (apparently I picked 16x1 Lh).

My question is whether or not the threading I picked is appropriate for the firearms I will likely use it on, which will be a 1911, m&p45, m&p9, and a 9mm sbr. Since I am just now starting to order replacement barrels etc., should I have picked something other than 16x1 to make it more "universal" or will I have to purchase separate Pistons for each setup anyway? Or in other terms, if you were picking your very first threading options when ordering an octane 45, which would you have gone with for the platforms described above?

9mm will be 1/2x28 tpi for US guns and 13.5x1mm metric LH for all other international standards like sig glock and hk/ fn.

Personal pref but I like the metric threads. They have a handy dandy O-ring. Doesn't do anything persay but its neat....

Your 16mx1lh is metric ie common on the European stage but less common but by no means not found on US pistols...

Your 9mm sbr will be 1/2x36 fixed mount. This is not a piston.... Please don't use a piston as these will need a fixed spacer.... Kinda a waste of money... It should be 1/2x36 to prevent 1/2x28 breaks from exploding due to user error since 9mm is larger then .22.

If you don't like the piston sell it to someone for cheap and buy the ones you want for your guns..

I like metric - first because those are the pitches for my Sig and HK pistols.  Next because when I'm unscrewing my TiRant it actually tightens the cap if my TiRant onto the tube.  If I ever build a 9mm AR I'll have the barrel threaded metric to match if it is going inside the handguard - will be easier to remove.

16x1 is the metric threading used for .45 ACP.  I use a 45Osprey with that piston on my G21 with factory threaded barrel.
