Looking at getting my first can. 5.56. Would like quick detach. It will be for a 10.5 barrel more than likely. Went on silencershops site for 5.56, dear lord there are a lot of choices. Help!

Budget?
Any full auto fire?
Where does weight fall on your list of concerns?

Saker 762 with 556 cap. Or saker 556k if you're never buying anything else (yeah right).

This is solid advice right here. I would go with one of the Sakers.

don't have any plans into 7.62 or 300blkout or .308  so 5.56 would be the only type of ammo used for the can

full auto is soooo far off...unless nolo and his team kick some well deserved ass that is..

weight isn't a huge concern, but this will mostly be a gun held, not on a rest or bench

Then I would think Specwar 556 or Specwar 556 K or Saker 556 or the K version.  Depends on how much you want to spend, suppression levels, weight, etc.  With the Saker you can go to a 7 or 7.5" barrel, can't remember on that.  The Specwars will run $300-$350 cheaper usually.  Both are from Silencerco.

My first rifle can was a Specwar 556. I love it. As soon as the saker 7.62 gets out of jail I'll see if it was worth it.

Buy the 7.62 even if you don't think you'll need it. With states starting to allow hunting with a silencer you might change your mind..the weight, a inch give or take, and 6ish db are the only differences.

Saker is the only way to go. I love both of mine.

I have a YHM titanium 5.56 and it's great as far as weight and sound goes. Not as durable obviously. I have a surefire socom  awaiting form 3 approval before I can even start my shit. The SAKER 7.62 is next on my list. I'm currently waiting on a spectre II, Osprey 9, and the surefire. I work at the dealer though, so I can at least play with them at work (except the socom of course). if its going to be your only can get the saker 7.62 And buy the 5.56 endcap.
