If you have either of these suppressors, please let me know the distance from the rear of the suppressor to the barrel shoulder (on an SPR barrel or Colt M4 barrel).

Thanks.

You looking for this but for the 5?

30

Yep, sort of. The rear of the AE30 would be a little further back since it is on the angled portion. I need the SPR or M4 versions. They show the position of the rear of the collar for those but not where the rear of the suppressor would be.

Why not just call Ron Allen?  He is usually really good at answering questions like these.

I'm holding a 30 and a 5 but I fail to see how you believe their different from the taper to the back of the can?  Not trying to be difficult but either I'm not understanding your question or you not sure what your looking for.

The taper is at the rear of the can on both.  Their is no overhag of the can beyond where the taper meets the collar.

Hope that helps. I can take a pic but haven't used PB in years.  PM me a address or something and I can email or text it to you.

Outside of that, contact Ron or ADCO.

Ron told me about 2.65" back for the AEM5 but not from what spot (I believe that is the muzzle) and then I think he got sick of me asking questions. ADCO forwarded me to this https://www.adcofirearms.com/acc/aefit.cfm.

I believe the suppressor mounts up to a certain point on the taper, but I don't know where that point is. I'll PM you.

For clarification, are you really after where the threads end to the back of the can and not the taper to the back?

The position of the rear most point of the can. This is to know which barrel/rail combo I will be able to use with either one or what length to cut a barrel to so that it is as close as possible.

Now that make some sense. Frankly I wouldn't get any closer than the rear of the collar.  You need a little room to account for barrel harmonics, and I beleive the ADCO advice is spot on.  You need to have your components to know for sure.

I sent you pics in an email.  Hope that helps.

This sounds like a ridiculous question. Off the top of my head I'd say the rear of the can is about 1/2-2/3 up the taper of the collar. Seems like it'd be pretty easy to just not buy a handguard that goes beyond the collar. Certainly was for me. You're thinking about this way too much or not providing us with enough details about what it is you're trying to accomplish.

I don't think it is that ridiculous. The suppressor can be mounted inside the hand guard if you want. I know approximately where the rear of the collar is so I'll just purchase an M4 collar and measure it up.

It's mostly that the question wasn't framed to get the correct response, but if you've never really seen the set up you may not know.

Is this what you're asking?

These are for OPS Inc cans, but are identical to the AE cans you mention....

That's what I was looking for. Thanks.
