I love the TREK. Make sure you spend the extra money and get a T. The TREK is nice but after getting my titanium version the regular one feels heavy.
Definitly plan on semi-perm attaching it.
It runs well, pretty quiet, light, overall my favorite can. The TREK-T adds less length than my M4-2000 and is only 10oz. The M4-2000 with mount is 22oz.
Pretty Awesome!
Only down side is that its thread on. QD mount is much better and much more convenient but if you're ok with leaving it on then yea just rockset it and be happy.
This Sunday I can post a video of the TREK side by side M4-2000 if you want?

Sounds good. This Sunday ill video TREK vs M4-2000 vs SDN6 all on 11.5" 5.56 uppers.
I am traveling so I only have those 3 cans with me. TREK-T as well as my other 9 rifle cans are home . TREK-T and TREK are the same only difference is weight.

Here is a photo of them for comparison for now.

I'm not going to hop on the Ti band wagon.
I bought a Trek for $295. I can't justify the additional $600 for Ti

Someone refresh my memory, does the Trek have the same 3 baffle construction the G5 has?

Yes.

Also, I'll second the idea of getting the titanium one. It's MUCH lighter.

Ive never had it spark, and thats with bursts of full auto. Ill do some mag dumps this weekend with some M16s.
Gemtech really makes a great can.

all of these cans have things they are good at and things they are bad at. It really depends on what your intended use is.
If this is a LE can, id recommend TREK-T, if this is a military can id recommend M4-2000 or Surefire. If this is to bring to the range and impress people id recommend M4-2000.

Ill make a video Sunday, Standby.

that being said, the TREK is nice, but if you want something thats really nice get the TREK-T

titanium is def the way to go if you can afford it.  You can seriously tell to difference between  the trek and trek-t. I have a gemtech GMT 556LE, the same as their current patrolman model and it never sparks and can handle full auto.

I got the trek  to save some money. Huge mistake, wish I got the trek-t badly.

based solely on weight?
17oz isn't a lot for a 556 can. Specwars are almost 20oz.

Maybe it sounds like I'm trying to justify my own purchase but I'd like some more detailed feedback.
Is this your only/primary 556 can? Which hosts do you primarily use?

Seeing as I just purchased a trek, I'd like to know a few more details as well.  I guess it depends on your application, but the trek isn't THAT heavy.

I use a specwar 556 for my ARs and it is not a problem.  The trek weighs several ounces less and is almost two inches sborter.

The Trek isnt necessarily all that heavy at 17.3oz, it is lighter than a lot of 5.56 steel suppressors, especially since it doesnt require a mount.

But the Trek-T at only 10.3 is 7 oz lighter than the Trek. Tape about 7 oz of weight to the end of your rifle, carry it around for a few min then remove the weight, you will notice a difference in the handling of the rifle or at least i did this and felt like there was a difference.

Gemtech GMT 556LE on my MK18
They call it a "Patrolman" now, its titanium as well, weighs 12.3oz and is rated for full auto which is why i went with it instead of the Trek-T.

Gotcha.
So if we're specifically talking about weight, then I'm happy with my surchase. I paid 1/3 the price of a Trek-t
