| I have an early 90's AWC .223 Optima suppressor and I was reading the instructions. It does state that it is rated for full auto use. I don't recall really shooting FA thru it in the past. While I'm ready to purchase a new (updated) can for my 16, just wondering if anyone has one of these older cans and has shot FA and if the can is still in good shape? |
| That can is probably made of all 300-series stainless. It will hold up to full auto in that it won't explode, but you will see dramatically faster baffle erosion compared to a modern silencer using Inconel or stellite baffles. Old AWC cans are built like a brick shithouse though. Since they aren't the greatest performers and are quite heavy, I would say blast with it til it's worn out and then get something new. |
