Ill pass after my experience with the Ryder 22...

And I choke pretty hard on the surefire dick considering I own 4 5.56 socom cans and am about to order a 7.62 mini.

What happened with your Ryder 22?
Also the choking comment had me dying, lol.

I wonder why they went with a 1.25" tube. That's going to cost them some volume.

is the 131db at the ear or muzzle?

Glad you guys like it. We have real busy on it. I spent a ton of time getting the look right after we got all the performance we could out of it.

I was thinking the same thing. One of the Ultras and the FDE Ryder would look fantastic on my M&P.

First, pulling it out of the box was pretty cool, comes in a sized down surefire box, nice pouch included, and the take down tools.

The can itself is relatively light, though a silencerco warlock is lighter and quieter.

The stacked baffles don't seal very well allowing carbon to build up in the tube further plaguing disassembly..

The way the stainless thread insert locks into aluminum tube looks like its rather fragile and would present a problem over time and use.

A gemtech outback is quieter at my ear, along with other people during a side by side demo.

The 1/2x28 threads are barely .400" Deep, so now you have to use the tacky little stainless washer Surefire includes to put it on ANYTHING. It wouldnt seat 100% against the shoulder on a P22 thread adapter for me.

Surefire just reduced MSRP and Dealer on the Ryder 22, I did buy one when they first came out, and was disappointed with the performance at the price. And unlike the rifle cans, this thing just does not ooze quality or is built like a brick shit house.

I would probably end up trying the new 9mm because it is surefire. I am also looking forward to the new 300 Blackout specific surefire socom coming out in january.

Anyone know the length on this?

Is it sealed or able to be disassembled & cleaned?

I've been waiting for a Ti tube/SS pistol suppressor and this just may be it...

If Garin's still here, I have a question.

Based on what I remember about SS's db tests on competitor cans, these seems a bit louder.

Is that a function of the different ammo used, or was it done intentionally with some positive trades off in mind (like there is with rifle cans)?  Thanks.

Please don't tell me that.  I just got my form 4 back for mine...

He posted the reasons why on the first page of this thread.

We have been testing the Ryder 9Ti with a lot of ammo. 147 Hydro Shock was requested by several groups. We have results with AMU's load as low as 125 dB. We will be putting more data out. We do not do one sample and use that. It is months of testing and then put a ave. out.

On the SF Ryder 22-A it is a muzzle interface and pistols have a shorter threads in most cases than rifles do. The spacer is for cosmetics on rifles to cover up any exposed threads if you wanted to.

Anyone know if this is rated for full auto (should be based on the materials used?) and if it's user-serviceable or a completely sealed can?

Are taller pistol sights needed for this suppressor too or can you use standard sights?

That's why I was wondering if those were numbers at the ear or muzzle. Or it could just be louder than most because of the smaller diameter and shorter tube length than the competition.

Also anyone know if they will offer a 3 lug adapter for the Ryder 9?

In comparing the db ratings between this and the Octane 9,

Both the Ryder 9 & Octane 9 seem to be the same length with only an 1/8" difference in diameter. Octane 9 says 30+ db reduction. So where does that put it in comparison to the Ryder 9 in sound reduction?

SWR was getting 159.24 dB avg unsuppressed using 147gr AE out of a USP 9

Results were:

Octane 9: 126.83 dB

Trident 9: 126.12 dB

TiRant 9: 125.85 dB

But you would need a head to head comparison to make valid performance comparisons.

Don't know specifics but .45 version next followed by a .40 version. Don't know if that's weeks/months/years from now.
