IIRC having spare baffles for a can is frowned upon by the BATFE.  Is this correct?  I had a baffle strike which damaged my internals which I was going to have mfg replace and was hoping I could send in the damaged baffles, and (if allowed) request a spare set since these cans are no longer in production.  Thoughts?

Not allowed.   ATF specifically prohibits it, unfortunately.

Also, Im not aware of any manufacturer that will trade out baffles.  Generally, they want the can to do the work themselves and dispose of the old baffles themselves.

That's what I thought which I think is silly since I already have a registered tube.  I'll contact the manufacturer and see what my options are.

It's not ATF, per se. It's the law. Individual baffles are "silencers" and must be regulated like complete "silencers". You can only have extras is you have separate tax stamps for each one.

Given the definition of a suppressor written into US Code it's hard to see how ATF could view it any differently.

(24) The terms "firearm silencer” and "firearm muffler” mean any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a portable firearm, including any combination of parts, designed or redesigned, and intended for use in assembling or fabricating a firearm silencer or firearm muffler, and any part intended only for use in such assembly or fabrication

Hasn't BATFE reversed its position on the possession of wipes?

For the second time NO, it was a chnage in law as part of FOPA86. Blame Congress, Blame Reagan,Blame NRA,  but ATF had nothing to do with it.
