Looking at buying a third rifle can (have an SDN-6 and a Specwar 5.56).

I want something lighter for this one.

Torn between the:

1) YHM Phantom ULT 7.62
2) Specwar K 5.56

#1 seems like an ideal fit because I can then use it on 7.62 guns as well. #2 is attractive because it's slightly shorter and much lighter than the full-size Specwar (and it'll fit mounts I have installed already, but that's what wrenches are for anyways). I've been leaning towards #1 ever since it was released but the Specwar's price point is hard to ignore. Full auto is not a concern, and I do have a bunch of 7.62s. The existing Specwar lives exclusively on my 11.5 (although my 6920 has the mount as well), and the SDN-6 lives on the AAC 9' and the AUG.

Thoughts? Mount costs are not a concern. And no, I don't want a Saker.

How about mount compatibility? Is that important? Are you planning on moving the suppressor between different hosts or letting it live on one?

Given those parameters, why not get a Trek-T or GMT HALO and park that on the 11.5 (which would virtually cut the weight in half on your 11.5 suppressor setup) and move the Specwar somewhere else?

Mount compatability is not a concern. It'll probably live on one or two guns, probably a .308 AR, and an SBR. Might put a mount on my 700P as well but not sold on it yet.

The only other place I'd move the Specwar would be to the DD Mk18 which really would be better off with a lighter can than the SDN6 anyways. Mk18 with the Phantom ULT sounds like a winner.
