Evening all,
I'm currently waiting on a Saker 7.62 and Tirant 9 to be released from prison and figured I should maybe add a 5.56 suppressor while I can. I'm very interested in the Specwar K but I'm having difficulty finding reviews or any info from people who have experience with them as they are relatively new. Do any of you have any experience with them? Or perhaps with any other shorter 5.56 cans that are similar? I'm not looking for the most quiet can, As I know everything will still be "loud" due to the nature of the round. Just something to use on a few of my SBR's (10.5 and 11.5") to take a little of the bite off. I've got about $850 set aside for whatever I decide on (including stamp), so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. Thanks in advance! |

They aren't even in dealer's hands yet from my understanding. That's why there aren't any reviews yet. FWIW, I'm looking forward to reviews also. |

Since you already have a Saker 7.62 on the way, I'd get a Saker K when they're released. Same mounts, so you can always use the 7.62 Saker on your 5.56mm guns if you decide you want more suppression. If you want to cut some weight/length, swap to the Saker K.
You'll need to save another another couple hundred bucks, but it would be worth it for the interchangeability, IMO. |

The money really isn't an issue. I have it, I was just trying to put a cap on it since I know most shorter cans aren't the best as far as suppression is concerned. You're paying to take a little of the bite off, so why not go for something short and light? With that said, the reason I was thinking the Specwar over the Saker was because in my head this is what I see. Specwar K: Weight: 13.7 oz Length: 6.2" Sound: ~137 db Price: $525 Saker K: Weight: 14.7oz Length: 5.8" Sounds: ~136.1 db Price: $800 Comparing those, it looks to me like I'd be paying an extra $275 for a can that is .5" shorter, .9db quiter and 1oz heavier. I'm not opposed to keeping this 5.56 can on 1 specific SBR (10.5" Noveske), as my 11.5" BCM already has a Saker mount on it. So it just seemed a bit silly to spend that much more for questionable gains and some mounting options. Perhaps I'm crazy, but if someone can shed some light on this, I'd be happy to hear how stupid I sound. |

I was just hoping maybe someone got a sneak peak at one and shot a few rounds through it and would be able to give at least some impression. |

It will likely still be a little wait to hear anything. I'm sure they will be fine, just not as quiet as the full size. Same with the saker k. Maybe I'll have to jump on it and be a guinea pig. I know SilencerCo is great as far as quality and performance so I'm not too worried. And I know it won't be AS quiet, but no 5.56 can is going to make it sound like a 22LR or something, so I was more going for short and light and just taking a little bite out of an SBR. I think either of the 2 shorties would be fine. Though I am open to other suggestions too. |

I was set on the Saker K but have decided that the price difference isn't worth it. Of course I don't already own a Saker, though, so if mounts and mount cost are an issue, that's something to consider. That's kind of how I see it. Especially since I have the Saker 7.62 coming. I've already got the saker mount on one SBR, and the 7.62 mount will go on my Rem 700. I figure my other SBR would be fine solely using a Specwar K. But again, I'm open to other options, hence the thread. |

Sooo I got antsy and ordered a normal Specwar 5.56 yesterday. Then this morning I got notice the K is in stock. Called up SS and they caught my form 3 before it was faxed and I now have an order in for a Specwar K.
Now if only they would come out with a 762 K version. |

I almost hopped on that Specwar 556 deal for 399 on Black Friday, but I'd much rather have the Specwar K. |

Now if only they would come out with a 762 K version. That'd be awesome, but I wonder how the suppression would be. I'm not too worried about 3-5 db different between the normal Specwar and the K given that it's for an AR SBR. But on a 7.62, the results would be quite interesting. It would be nice to see something like that though. |

Yeah, I thought about it for maybe 20-30 minutes after receiving the e-mail that it was in stock. Debated just keeping the full size order. In the end, I knew I really wanted the K. Short and light. Can't wait to try it out! |

Seeing as the normal Specwar (762) meters a number of dB's quieter than many other fullsize cans (specifically 300blk), I'd think its performance wouldn't be too off from many of the other 762 cans on the market. But...I'm not the choir. |

I honestly think having the same mounting system alone would have been worth the $275 difference… at least it is to me. Not saying you made a bad choice, but I would have gone with the Saker K I highly debated that, and as I had said the money isn't the issue. I was thinking in my head that I have the Saker 7.62 which I can swap between my 11.5" SBR and Remington 700. The Specwar K will sit solely on the 10.5" SBR. So essentially both SBR's are dealth with and the Rem700 is just a switch away. |
