looking at the specwar 762. i am going to use it on 556 up to 3oo winmag. i was wondering if anyone can terll me the pros and cons of the specwar762
the other thing is this is cheaper then the saker 762 |
| Been really happy with mine until yesterday. Something went wrong with the locking mechanism and the can shot off and has damage from the round at the end cap. This is the second SPECWAR 762 I've seen this happen to. Hopefully SWR can repair it for me because I really enjoy shooting with it. Quietest .308 caliber can I've tried. Bit long and heavy but sure is quiet. |

I have one in jail right now, so I have no actual experience with it.
Based on my research, specwar is quieter than Saker, but can not be mounted under the handguard due to the locking ring. With the saker it is one hand on/off so you can easily mount it below the handguard and still takes off. That was a moot point for me, so I went with the specwar. It is longer, heavier, but also quieter. It does no have cross platform compatibility with other mounts from other companies, but that was a non issue for me too since I don't own any other cans. It's really just what fits best into your setup (if weight maters, do you own other mounts, etc). Also with the saker you can put a 223 end to supposedly reduce the db a little more when shooting 223, but I seriously doubt it makes that much of a difference, goes against suppressor "theory" to have that much of an impact... |

I LOVE my Specwar 762, but it didn't take long for me to figure out that it was a little big / heavy for my AR's.
When my Specwar 556 was approved it didn't take me long to figure out that just one wasn't going to cut it... The 762 lives on my Remington 700, and the 556 has done great on my 11.5 SBR. The second 556 is still pending on a F3. |
| I really like my Specwar 762, I use it on my DPMS Recon in .308. It works great. I did have to send it in for repair once, but I tried subs without verifying stabilization with them. They fixed it right away, there and back within a week and they refinished it for me. Greater customer service, great cans. I have a Specwar 556 coming soon too, can't wait to get it. |

It was my first can and I LOVE IT. It's built like a tank...seriously. I've used it on my 9.5 SBR in 5.56 and 8.2 300blk. I have a buddy who has a model 700 in 300wm and it was really awesome to shoot. I will say buy with confidence and SilencerCo CS is amazing. Here are the obligatory pics http://<a href=http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a604/artimus009/3FE9BE9A-ED60-441F-9DEB-93138A6EDCF2_zps1mpm50gy.jpg</a>" /> Here is the same SBR, just with a rattle can job I did myself. http://<a href=http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a604/artimus009/Mobile%20Uploads/A17963A0-D7C2-449F-8E82-1DB3CE20CE27_zpsae3bsppy.jpg</a>" /> Nice paint. Will it hold up from the heat on the silencer? |
| They are one of the quietest cans, but they are a little longer and heavier than others. The only other issue for some people, as mentioned, is they can't be mounted under a rail. I chose the Saker over the Specwar mainly because of the weight and length, if that is not a concern for you then they are great cans. |
