Doing first cleaning and I don't appear to have the expansion chamber, all I see is baffle stacks. The rear of the tube has slotted piece that does not appear to come out but it does not look like the chamber in the instructions which is a solid ss cone. Help.

Is this a newer one?  The newer ones are fairly easy. Take your piston with the spring around it and put it in backwards.  Then push and it will come out. The reason you put the spring around the piston when inserting it backwards is so it doesn't scratch up the "Encapsulator".  Some older Octanes have a different expansion chamber.  If you have one of these, you can get it retrofitted.  I think they'll do it for free.

There is the birdcage assembly that holds the piston. That is designed to remain attached to the tube and is not user serviceable.

The old blast/expansion chambers did not have the piece that has the petals sticking out of it (to give you something to push against to get it out).

The new ones look like this:

If you have an old style, call up Silencerco and they will fix you up with a new one.

Silencerco calls the birdcage/piston housing the "Encapsulator".

Ok I just bought this one 3 months ago and got stamp last week. I DO NOT have a piece like in your photo, just the baffles and the birdcage piece.

It could just be older stock. If you don't see the petals than it's the old style chamber. Call Silencerco and tell them you have the old style they will fix you right up.

Guys I don't have anything that looks like an expansion with or without petals only baffles and fixed birdcage. The last cone baffle just goes inside the birdcage.

Can you post a picture? If you look through the slots in the birdcage, do you see goldish/bronzeish color or black?

Looks like that when assembled. is that last baffle cone with the little slot ( the ones you line up) what I should be seeing?

The old expansion chamber was essentially a tube and surrounds the birdcage and is what the baffle stack sits on.

If you see that gold-ish/bronze-ish color that means you have an expansion chamber. If you see black through the slots of birdcage then you are seeing the main body of the suppressor.

main of body what I'm seeing. Missing part???

The areas in red are the new-style expansion chamber telescoping around the encapsulator.  If you don't have those, you probably have an old style expansion chamber.  If the expansion chamber is missing, the baffles will be loose and it will be obvious.  My opinion is that if your baffles are not loose, don't worry about removing it.  Just clean the baffles.  Overcleaning and excessive disassembly/reassembly will wear out your can far quicker than shooting it.

I will let Andrew call it whatever he wants... but the graphic artist was not let in on the secret.

If it were my design, I would call it the piston housing.

Yeah, just put your piston with the spring wrapped around it into the 'encapsulator/birdcage/piston housing' backwards and tap it with your palm a few times.  Should come out.
